Skills and Learning Statement

You are required to respond to four different questions in the preparation of your Skills and Learning State-
ment. Two of these are directly related to your meetings with your Project Mentor:

What did you learn from the meetings with your Project Mentor, including the presentation that you gave to

How have you demonstrated your interpersonal and communication skills during the project work?

To pass the Skills and Learning Statement you have to show your ability to reflect on judgments that you ha-
ve made and / or actions that you have taken during your project work. You also have to provide evidence
that you recognise your own strengths and weaknesses.

It is very important that you think carefully about what you want to achieve in each of the three meetings. It
is equally important to reflect on what happened during the meeting and how your objectives were achie-
ved. Making a note after meetings, or keep a personal diary of reflections, will help you develop content for
possible later use in your Skills and Learning Statement.

Determination of Class Update

The class of degree you can achieve will be based on:

• The average mark you gain from the Applied Skills exams.
• The grade you achieve for your Research and Analysis Project.

If you have been given an exemption from any of the three papers Corporate and Business Law (LW), Perfor-
mance Management (PM), or Taxation (TX), no mark is available, so cannot be included in the calculation for
your average mark.

For example: a student with an ACCA average mark of 69 and a grade B for the Project will be awarded the
BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting with First Class Honours.
